External hemorrhoids. These lie just outside the anal opening, where they primarily cause symptoms of swelling or bothersome protrusions, and sometimes discomfort. Swelling and discomfort may occur only intermittently. External hemorrhoids may also cause difficulties keeping the anal area clean after bowel movements. External hemorrhoids sometimes develop a blood clot inside of them (“thrombosis”), often after a period of diarrhea or constipation. In that case, it produces a sudden firm and painful swelling or lump around the rim of the anus.

Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the rectum or anal region that are caused from extra pressure or straining. Blood can pool in the vessels around the anus, causing pain, itching, swelling, inflammation, and irritation. Hemorrhoids may be internal, in the rectum, or external, on the skin around the anus. Unfortunately, hemorrhoids are common in pregnant women and people over fifty, though there are a number of treatment options. Treatment options can include over-the-counter medications and applications or surgical procedures of varying degrees.

Fourth-degree hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids that prolapse and cannot be pushed back in the anal canal. Fourth-degree hemorrhoids also include hemorrhoids that are thrombosed (containing blood clots) or that pull much of the lining of the rectum through the anus.

And so it goes until one day you end up with prolapsed internal hemorrhoids, screaming from pain and oozing blood. To make matters words, the straining related to internal hemorrhoids, begins to cause external hemorrhoids as well, bringing its own set of on-going headaches.

Sometimes the symptoms of enlarged hemorrhoids are so bad that treating the symptoms alone is no longer enough. Then there are various procedures that can be done to remove the tissue that is causing problems.Hemorrhoids are normal “cushions” of tissue filled with blood vessels, found at the end of the rectum, just inside the anus. If they become enlarged, they can cause unpleasant symptoms. The most suitable type of treatment will mainly depend on the size of the hemorrhoids and the severity of symptoms. Each approach has its own advantages and disadvantages. Depending on the procedure, side effects can occur – some more severe than others.Sclerotherapy and “rubber band ligation” (“banding”) are generally carried out as day procedures, without an anesthetic. If someone has grade 3 or grade 4 hemorrhoids, doctors often recommend surgery. A general or local anesthetic is usually needed for this. You then have to stay in the hospital for a few days, and stay off work for some time too.

Really I was not expecting results as I had tried just about everything so I skeptically began using the oil. When I noticed an improvement in appearance and feel after a few days of applying I was shocked and started to pay much closer attention, re-read the instructions and started to make sure I was applying enough and doing it correctly. I called through and had a customer service rep answer some questions and advise me further, she was really professional, friendly and happy to assist, which was comforting as I’ve dealt with some insensitive people when it comes to this I promise you.

I was a total skeptic but gave it a try with no real hopes that it would work because from what I had read about hemorrhoid treatment scared the heck out of me so it was worth a shot. I had what I had self diagnosed via the Internet to be a very painful, itchy Thrombosed External hemorrhoid. I had it for a few months before I tried essential oils and it was gone in about a week of treatment and has yet to return in almost a year. I’m about to try the verruca/wart treatment oil for a painful plantar wart on my foot. If it cures this one as well I may try to buy into this company. * – Smithers
